Volunteering

We usually organise volunteer work days during the summer months. These are open to the public, and provide attendees with the chance to meet some of the Co-op members,  learn and share skills and experiences and enjoy a nice vegetarian lunch.

 

Longer volunteering options are sometimes available, depending on what projects are on the go at the time. These may include building or structures repairs, gardening/landscaping, wooding, and event site prep. Volunteers are welcome to camp, or can choose to hire out one of our glamping accommodations. Tours

Guided tours of the Landmatters site can be arranged for those who would like to know a bit more about life on the land, and see what an off-grid lifestyle might look like. There is a small investment required for this service and the tours are usually up to a couple hours long. Monthly tours are currently being offered on the second Saturday of each month, March till October. For more information please get in touch via the contact page here. 

 

Staying Over 

South Devon in well known for its' beautiful coasts and stunning views. At Landmatters we offer the opportunity to have affordable accommodation while you explore the riches of Devon.

• Camping: Landmatters is not a camp site, however over night camping may be available by prior arrangement only. For camping enquiries please contact us via the contact page here.  

• The Holly Retreat Yurt: The yurt is a beautiful structure made from wood and canvas. Bed linen, basic kitchen facilities, gas cooker and electricity (when sufficient sun!) all included. First load of wood for wood burner supplied, further wood can be bought at cost price. Compost toilets in adjacent field. Outside gravity bucket shower. Drinking water pumped by hand from borehole, rainwater for washing up fetched from roof collection tanks. This is our off-grid lifestyle – simple and satisfying, and easy on the earth…
